About Dean Hughson

Dean Hughson, founder of THE DIVORCE HOMEPAGE lives with his wife Yoly in Las Vegas Nv. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Dean is a former probation officer, alcoholism/marriage and family counselor, and long-time activist for human rights. In 1991 he learned about divorce in the worst way --he had one against his will. From this experience he decided to develop resources for others in the midst of divorce, and created one of the first divorce communities and help sites on the World Wide Web. Dean soon found that even those with the money to pay for high-priced attorneys lacked basic information on the impact of divorce, including the chaos it brings to families and the damage it inflicts on our society. Over 200 people a day visit his page and many send e-mails asking for referrals or just a friendly ear. He refers to therapists, self-help groups, and attorneys --and points to the many resources available on the Internet in the process. He receives requests for help from places as diverse as Hong Kong and small towns in Hawaii. In 1992 the Kansas City Star called him 'the Dear Abby of Divorced Dads.' When he isn't giving help via the DIVORCE HOMEPAGE he works as a consultant in the egg industry worldwide and serves as a volunteer with Dentists To The World, a UN sponsored group that supplies dental and medical aid to poor countries. Dean's three children, Rachel, 17, Josh, 15, and Liz, 13, reside in Scottsdale Arizona. Dean also maintains the EGGMAN homepage, a site for those who want to know more about eggs and egg products.
