Friend,

I really appreciate your message, and yes, I am a christian.

In fact, through all the years my wife was mired in a deep
depression and would barely get out of bed and do anything,
I used to pray every night for her. I knew she was suffering,
mentally and emotionally, and it tore me apart.

And you know, she did come out of the depression, only to become
a demanding, insufferable, abusive woman (this was what she was like
in the 1st year of marrige) who would fly totally off the handle
at me and the kids when she didn't get her way. This was about 3
years ago, and that's when I really hit the skids emotionally, because
I realized it was never going to get any better. This was what I had
been praying for? I felt like telling, her, "why don't you just go back
to bed?"

I finally came to the realization that making myself this woman's caretaker
was destroying not only my life, but my daughter's as well.

I still pray, but I also know that faith alone is not enough.
