For Christmas, we promised the kids a white Christmas because they have never seen one coming from another country. On Christmas Eve, my wife wanted a divorce. On New Years Eve, her and the 3 kids moved out. For my birthday, I got served the papers. They didn't greet me for New Years or my Birthday. I don’t know as to why I am doing this, but maybe because it’s time that I re-evaluate my marriage and I could sure use a divorced woman’s opinion as to how to handle this before I consider getting a divorce myself or maybe I just need a girlfriend. I have enjoyed being married and I would do it again with the right woman. For some reason my marriage to my wife is not what it really turned out to be. I feel like our marriage is based more on friendship than anything else. Sure, saying “I Love You” to each other is great, but you also have to show it too. There are times that I don’t like going home because I don’t really have much to look forward to. When I do, I walk into an empty living room. My wife is home, but not being able to see her first when I get home is very disappointing. I feel like I am living a single married life. Don’t worry, I can take care of myself. I am very much domesticated. But when you have a wife to come home too, you want to see her first, say “Honey, I’m Home” to her, greet her with a hug & kiss, all that, but it’s not there for me. I have to put my stuff down, go to the bedroom and say hi there and see that she watching T.V. and is ready for bed (sleep, nothing else). So, I end up spending the evening alone watching T.V. When she is in the living room and greets me when I do come home, she serves me dinner and after a few minutes, she disappears to the bedroom and I don’t see her the rest of the night until I go to bed. I know that she is tired, but I would like to spend time with her. Going to bed after getting home from a day of work is not what I like to do. I like to spend time with my wife, talk about work, how the day went, and maybe even have a bit of romance, but that doesn’t happen. I spend most nights alone watching T.V., when I could be spending it with my wife cuddling up on the sofa watching programs together. I like to travel, like take small trips, but everytime I plan one, she finds ways to get out not wanting to go. Our physical aspects of our relationship is very much dormant. I say we make love maybe 1-4 times a month. Yes, that’s right. Not kidding. I understand being tired and not wanting to do things after work is great, but all the time? I need more than that. I am lacking companionship, friendship, (that’s there) romance and communication, which of course all is inportant in a marriage. I love being spontaneous and romantic, but I can’t seem to be that with her. I even have had the courage to go into the lingerie department and get her some nice things to wear at night, but all they seem to do is go up in the closet and she never wears them.
